Education

1998 - graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Faculty of International Law and International Relations, majoring in International Law;

1998-2002 - studied under a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) at the University of Saarland (Germany); in 1999 he was awarded a Master of Laws degree, and in 2002 - a Doctor of Laws degree

Professional Experience

On December 29, 2021, Shalva Papuashvili was elected Speaker of the Parliament of the tenth convocation of Georgia;

On October 31, 2020, Shalva Papuashvili was elected a member of the tenth convocation of the Parliament of Georgia from the party list of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia;

On December 15, 2020, he was elected First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture;

On March 31, 2021 - he was elected Chairman of the Committee on Education and Science;

He is a member of the faction Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia;

Since January 16, 2021 he is a member of the political council of the party Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia;

2003-2007 - he was a law expert at the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ);

2007-2017 - he headed the various directions of the German International Cooperation (GIZ) Law Program in the South Caucasus;

Since 2012 - he has been giving lectures at various universities;

Shalva Papuashvili is an associate professor at Ilia State University
